Brazilian referee, Sandro Ricci has been appointed by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to handle Saturday’s crunch Group G game between the Black Stars and Germany.
Saturday’s game between Ghana and Germany will be Ricci’s second game after handling the France- Honduras match that saw the historic introduction of Goal Line Technology to decide France’s second goal scored by Karim Benzema.
Prior to Brazil 2014, Sandro Ricci in the previous year covered four matches at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, in addition to two matches at the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup, where he officiated the final between Bayern Munich and Raja Casablanca.
Sandro Ricci hails from Brasilia, the capital of the host nation, Brazil; and is 39 years of age.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, coach Appiah and his 23-man contingent will be looking to bounce back from their demoralizing 2-1 loss against the United States of America and secure the needed point to salvage their dwindling World Cup fortunes.
Ghana is currently placed third in Group G and will need at least a point from the game to remain in the competition.
Germany, on the other hand, lies atop of Group G with a comfortable 3 points after their convincing 4-0 win over Portugal.
