Nana Akufo-Addo has the birthright to become the president of Ghana, just like his late father Edward Akufo-Addo, who was one time Ghana's Prime Minister and a member of Ghana's founding fathers, former boss of the School Feeding Programme, Dr Amoako Tuffuor has said.
According to him, the same spirit that run through the Mayweather, Abedi Pele, and Kennedy families, which empowered their sons to inherit the boxing and football skills of their fathers also runs through the veins of the Akufo-Addo family.
He said some families are blessed with skills and the Akufo-Addo family is no different. Edward Akufo-Addo was president, "brilliant" Nana Addo could be same.
Touting the legal and political prowess of Edward Akufo-Addo, Dr. Tuffuor said the former prime minister was an astute lawyer, whose unquestionable sense of nationalism endeared him to be one of the founding fathers of Ghana.
He said that same credentials run through Nana Akufo-Addo, who is an accomplished lawyer, a renowned human rights advocate and a nationalist, whose dream is to serve the country at the highest pinnacle of Ghana's politics.
He made the comment on Asempa FM's Ekosii sen programme, Wednesday, while discussing the developments in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which is preparing to elect regional, national officers and a new flagbearer.
Critics, some of whom are within the NPP have kicked against a third attempt by Nana Akufo-Addo to seek the country's top job.
They insists the 69 year old politician is too old to gun for Ghana's presidency, adding, merely because his father was president did not mean he should also be president at all cost.
But Dr. Tuffuor said the arguments by the critics are superfluous.
He said age, which is just a number, cannot stop Nana Addo from going to the promised land, adding that the NPP 2008 flagbearer is experienced, incorruptible and has everything needed to succeed as president.
He therefore challenged critics to contest Nana Addo on ideas and not on redundant matters like age.
