The former CEO of Brong Ahafo United (B. A United), Ransford Antwi, has presented an amount of GH₵52, 191 to city rivals, Bofoakwa Tano.
The amount presented at the team’s training grounds on Friday represents the full payment of an ongoing fundraising drive dubbed ''Operation Bofobeba'' he embarked upon a week ago.
The operation is aimed at motivating the Sunyani-based division one side, Bofoakwa Tano, to bring premier league football to the Bono Regional capital, Sunyani, a stage that has eluded football fans for years.
“The Hunters” are close to clinching a qualification spot from the ongoing division one zone one league with two matches to end the season.
After 28 matches, Bofoakwa Tano, competing with 15 other teams, including B. A United leads the table with 61 points, 5 points more than close contender Real Tamale United, who are in 2nd place.

The rivalry that exists between B. A United and Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani is very bitter but that seems to have been put on the back burner in the interest of the numerous benefits that come to a premier league host town.
"Through your kind support, respect, trust, and confidence in me, you offered to donate massively towards a worthy cause, a gesture I find very humbling, in all honesty", Mr. Antwi, who is also the CEO of Suncity Radio, said.
In expressing his appreciation to the contributors, mostly fans of B. A United spread across the globe, and those who could not contribute, but said some kind words about the project, Mr. Antwi averred that "this indeed demonstrate that if we can put aside our differences as a people, unite and fight for what is ours, there's nothing we cannot accomplish".
He said this is the time for all residents in Sunyani and the region to work together in the interest of Bonoman, regardless of their differences.
Mr. Ransford Antwi appealed to B. A United and all football-loving fans to support their rivals, Bofoakwa Tano in their remaining two matches to seal the qualification. The hunters will host Wamanafo Mighty Royals on Sunday at the Sunyani Coronation Park and their last match away against Berekum Arsenals the following week.
A management member of Bofoakwa Tano, Alphonse Cudjoe Agbetsise, who received the donation, expressed their gratitude to Mr. Ransford Antwi for looking beyond their rivalry to spearhead this worthy campaign. He said it reemphasized his love for Sunyani and determination to go the extra mile to help bring good things to the people.
Agbetsise said the team is energized by the love shown to them and with their continuous prayers, they will also continue to work hard and bring premier league football to Sunyani.
Meanwhile, in a rare gesture, the management of Bofoakwa Tano has donated GH₵5,000 to their bitterest city rivals, B. A United. This is to help the "Apostles of Power Soccer" side as they play host to Wa Suntaa FC in Techiman as part of the punishment handed them by the Ghana Football Association after their abruptly ended game against RTU weeks ago.
