Even before the Deputy Trade Minister Carlos Ahenkorah sent his resignation to the president, Ghanaians on social media were demanding his head.
This comes after he visited a mass voters’ registration centre despite being coronavirus positive.
The Tema West MP said he was aware of his status and therefore adhered to social distancing and other protocols when he was out.
He said he went to the centres because he did not want much speculation from his constituents about his absence at the start of the registration.
However, intense pressure is mounting on the one time MP to resign from all public offices.
Pay as you go politics in Ghana has put people like Carlos Ahenkorah with no leadership skills in leadership positions to disturb Ghana.#CarlosMustResign#SackCarlos

What if everyone at the registration center had the Corona because of Carlos Ahenkorah? 🤔#CarlosMustResign

This is Carlos Ahenkorah, a Deputy Minister of State, who says proudly that even though he knew he has tested positive for COVID-19, he left the isolation ward to visit some registration centres. #FireCarlos #CarlosMustResign pic.twitter.com/XXKVjsKXEE

If Hon Carlos Ahenkorah really went out knowing fully his Covid19 status, he should be dealt with! Isn’t he supposed to be receiving treatment in isolation? Do we always have to put political gains first? Smh #CarlosMustResign #FireCarlos

Frankly speaking, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah faulted for going to the registration centres despite his positive status on COVID-19. He should have known better and consider to do the needful now to resign. Yes, #CarlosMustResign to deter others in leadership from doing the same. 🙏

Carlos Ahenkorah wants us to believe he didn't spend more than five minutes at the registration centre, can we tell him to say that to the Marines? #FireCarlos.#CarlosMustResign.#CitiCBS @NAkufoAddo Please show leadership

Hope the president, H.E @NAkufoAddo kowtows to the public outcry on #CarlosMustResign for the greater good of the sensitisation on the virus and our effective response to eradicate it. God bless our homeland 🇬🇭 and make her great and strong.
