The Technical Adviser to the Minister of Finance, Frederick Amissah, has dismissed suggestions that the recent appreciation of the cedi is artificial.
Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile, Mr Amissah insisted that the strengthening of the local currency is the result of deliberate government interventions.
He cited the GoldBod initiative as one of the key measures helping to stabilise the economy and build confidence in the cedi.
According to him, the gains being witnessed are real in the economy and reflect the government’s commitment to restoring macroeconomic stability.
