The Minister of Climate Change and Sustainability, Seidu Issifu, recently welcomed Rosie Glazebrook, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), and Klaus Büttner, Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at the Alberta United Kingdom Office, on a courtesy visit to discuss potential areas of partnership and collaboration.
Rosie Glazebrook, a distinguished British royal and cousin to His Majesty King Charles III, leads CWEIC, an organisation established by 26 Heads of Government to promote trade and investment across the Commonwealth.
In addition to her role at CWEIC, she chairs the Copyright Licensing Agency and Publishers' Licensing Services, both of which generate revenues for their respective industries. She also serves on the British Standards Institution’s (BSI) Standards Policy and Strategy Committee.

Klaus Büttner, an experienced international trade and investment expert, currently oversees Alberta’s trade and investment initiatives across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
With over two decades of experience in government and financial services, he has held leadership positions in Canada’s Ministry of International Trade, served as Minister-Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy in Moscow, and worked as Regional Vice-President at Canada’s Export Development Agency.
During the meeting, Glazebrook and Büttner extended their congratulations on the Minister’s appointment and expressed a strong interest in exploring collaboration opportunities between the Commonwealth and the Ministry.
The discussions focused on investment prospects in climate resilience, renewable energy, and sustainability-driven economic growth, aligning with the government’s vision for a greener and more sustainable future.

The Minister welcomed the engagement, stressing the importance of fostering partnerships to drive innovative climate solutions.
He highlighted the country’s commitment to sustainable development and the need for strategic alliances to support climate adaptation, green technology investments, and knowledge exchange.
Both delegations expressed optimism about future collaboration and agreed to explore joint initiatives that promote sustainable investment and environmental stewardship.
This visit marks a significant step in strengthening partnerships between the Ministry and international stakeholders committed to addressing climate change and driving sustainable progress.
