The Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, has visited several cocoa takeover centres to review ongoing operations for the current cocoa season and assess the company’s preparedness ahead of a planned shift to a 24-hour operational model in some departments.
During the visit, Dr. Dogbey met with the staff responsible for the storage and handling of cocoa.
Discussions focused on operational challenges, workflow gaps, and areas requiring improvement.

The visit also formed part of a broader internal assessment as the company considers round-the-clock operations aimed at improving efficiency in warehouse, port and shipping activities.
According to CMC, the introduction of a 24-hour system is expected to help reduce turnaround times, improve inventory management and strengthen coordination with Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs).
The company says the model may also contribute to faster processing of transactions and movement of cocoa, especially during peak periods.

CMC maintains that improved efficiency across its operations would support the timely handling of cocoa and help maintain product quality.
The visit forms part of ongoing internal reviews as the company evaluates reforms intended to strengthen its role within Ghana’s cocoa supply chain.
