`Traditional authorities in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region have appealed to President Mahama to consider completing abandoned projects initiated by successive governments in their jurisdiction.
They believe these projects when completed would contribute meaningfully to the development of the constituency and consequently uplift the livelihoods of the constituents.
“We kindly urge you to honor your pledge to complete the numerous abandoned projects from your previous administration and uncompleted initiatives of the Akufo-Addo-led administration in the Akatsi North District. These projects hold significant importance for the development and well-being of our communities”, stated a communique signed by six Paramount Chiefs and copied to Myjoyonline.com.
The projects included the Ave-Dakpa to Akatsi road, Ave-Afiadenyigba to Korve road, and some other internal roads, and a stalled market store project in the old Ave-Dakpa market started by the District Assembly under the previous John Mahama gov’t among others.

The Chiefs also appealed to President Mahama to consider appointing their illustrious son, Peter Nortsu Kotoe as Minister for Education.
According to them, Mr. Kotoe who is serving his fourth term in parliament and rose to Ranking Member on the Education Committee in the 8th Parliament has in-depth expertise to contribute to shaping the education sector.
They identify Mr. Kotoe, an educationist by profession, as a valuable asset to the next government which aims to “revive” the country’s education sector and streamline the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy among others.
“We humbly appeal for the consideration of our Member of Parliament for Akatsi North, Hon. Peter Nortsu Kotoe, who has served diligently as the Ranking Member on Education in the 8th Parliament, for the esteemed position of Minister of Education.
“His exemplary dedication and expertise in the education sector position him as a valuable asset to your government”,
The Chiefs congratulated President John Mahama on his victory in the 2024 general election, indicating that it “reflects the confidence and trust Ghanaians have placed in your vision and leadership to guide our nation toward prosperity and progress.”
They assured of their commitment and support to the Mahama-led-government towards delivering its planned programs, policies, and initiatives to achieve the “Resetting and Rebuilding the Ghana We All Want”, agenda.
“Once again, we celebrate your historic achievement and assure you of our steadfast support as you lead our beloved nation into a new era of progress and inclusivity”, it concluded.
