President Akufo-Addo has emphasized that it is non-negotiable for state-owned enterprises to comply with the State Interests and Governance Authority's (SIGA) directive to submit audited financial statements and sign performance contracts.
According to him, adherence to SIGA’s oversight aims to enhance transparency and accountability.
The president made these remarks at the 5th Annual Stakeholders Engagement of SIGA held in Kwawu-Nkwatia, in the Eastern Region.
The establishment of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) five years ago has played a crucial role in overseeing and managing the state's interests in various entities.
Its mandate includes providing effective oversight and support to state-owned enterprises, joint venture companies, and state entities.
In his address as the Guest of Honour, President Akufo-Addo noted that preparing and publishing State Ownership Reports will offer valuable insights into the performance of public enterprises.
