The friends of Bawumia in the Upper West Region have congratulated Nana Addo for the endorsement he received from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates as the special procedure and rules governing the party were subjected to a thorough testing.
However, the NPP according to the group, was able to exonerate itself from these trying times and emerged victorious.
In a press statement copied to Myjoyonline.com, the group said it is equally grateful to Nana Addo, the national council and all those who matter for their unanimous endorsement proffered on Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia as the running mate of the NPP for 2016 general elections.
It indicated that it was a clear acknowledgment of the many voices of Ghanaians who want to see Bawumia as the next vice president of mother Ghana.
Reflecting on the merits of Bawumia's nomination, the group says it is convinced that the NPP is surely a winning team come 2016.
It also wishes to use the opportunity to wish all those who went into the race and could not make it, a better luck next time and also to let them understand that, “we respect them, we love them and we see them as true party men”.
The group appealed to all to support the party whole heartedly because these same delegates would judge them one day based on their individual commitment to the party.
It indicated that the road map to success in 2016 is clear and that “it is easier to retrogress than to progress. It was now left to party leadership and all party members at all level to work hard to achieve this success for the party”.
As friends of Bawumia, “we are very much happy for the widening circle of unity in our party which has vividly given some levelled confidence in Ghanaians that the NPP is the only best alternative to rescue this country from its current economic woes come 2016”.
“All party members must therefore see this unity call as fundamental and a non-negotiable spirit that can help us achieve our collective goal as a political party”.
