The Constitution Review Committee is expected to formally present its final report to President John Dramani Mahama later today, marking a major milestone in the government’s efforts to review and strengthen Ghana’s constitutional framework.
According to the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the presentation, scheduled for 2:00pm, will conclude months of nationwide consultations, expert engagements and public submissions aimed at addressing gaps and emerging challenges within the 1992 Constitution.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the committee’s work reflects broad-based input from citizens, civil society organisations, traditional authorities and professional bodies, and is intended to support reforms that promote good governance, accountability and democratic consolidation.
He noted that upon receipt of the report, President Mahama will study its recommendations and outline the next steps, including possible stakeholder engagements and policy actions, stressing that the process remains guided by inclusiveness, transparency and respect for constitutional order.
