The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has urged traders who do business in coronavirus-hit China not to travel to that country until the virus is subdued.
China and countries around the world, including those in Africa, are struggling to contain the spread of the new coronavirus that has killed 106 people and infected more than 4,500.

More than 56 million people in almost 20 Chinese cities – including Wuhan, capital of Hubei province and the epicentre of the virus – have been prevented from travelling in an attempt to curb the spread of the virus.
In Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya and Ethiopia have recorded cases of the deadly virus.
Ghana’s Health Ministry says stringent measures have been put in place to ensure that the disease does not reach the country. Even if it does, it is hoped that these measures, Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu has stated, will not be as debilitating as it is in other countries.
In a statement copied to JoyNews, General Secretary of the TUC, Alpha Shaban advised “members of the business community, especially traders who intend to or are preparing to travel to China for business or any other thing to hold on and if possible do their business-related and other communications on the internet until the case of the outbreak and spread of the respiratory illness as reported in the media is brought under complete control.”
