The Presidential Candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has assured the party's supporters of keeping the only parliamentary seat in the Kumbungu Constituency.
Ivor Kobina Greenstreet said the party would win more seats nationwide, especially winning the Jomoro seat again.
The flagbearer made this remark when he visited the Kumbungu Constituency as part of his campaign tour around the country.
The CPP is targeting six seats in the Northern Region.
Apart from the Kumbungu parliamentary seat, which is the only seat that the party has nationwide, it is working hard to win the Sagnarigu, Mion, Yunyoo, Tatale and Salaga South seats which are all in the Northern Region.
Addressing the chief and people of Kumbungu, Mr Greenstreet said, the CPP is a party of peace and its main ambitions has not changed from the principle's of it founder, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
The flagbearer also urged the Naa Zakaria Iddrisu to pray for the parliamentary candidate to retain the parliamentary seat and continue with the good work he has done for the constituency.
“It is important for us to retain one thing we have in our presence, the Kumbungu seat parliamentary seat. Even though is not going to be easy, we can’t continue in that struggle at the last hour.
"Without coming to seek your blessing and your guidance, we know you bless all that come to you, but we also know our special relationship we have with you, you also hold us dear to your heart,” the flagbearer said.
The Green Train as part of the campaign tour made a courtesy stop at Daung, Zangbalung and Zugu all in the Kumbungu constituency.
