In a thrilling 5-match T20 friendly series that captivated local cricket fans, Obuasi Cricket Academy faced off against Nsromma Cricket Academy's (Sophia Beausoleil Girls Cricket & Hawkman U- 19 cricket Club).
The series was scheduled to be played over two weekends, with the first & third match kicking off on April 27 & 28, 2025 at Achimota oval C, a display of raw talent, youthful energy, and fierce determination.
The 4th & final match scheduled for 3rd and 4th May,2025 at the KNUST cricket oval, Obuasi.
Played under bright skies and vibrant crowds, the series lived up to expectations, going down to the final match in dramatic fashion.
Match 1: Obuasi Sets the Tone
Obuasi came out firing in the opening game, setting a solid total of 145/7 in (19.3) overs, . Sophie Beausoleil chase started well but faltered in the middle overs due to tight bowling from Emmanuella Abdulai, who picked 3 wickets. Sophie Beausoleil had 103/6 in (20.0)overs, Obuasi cricket Academy sealed the match by 43 runs, taking a 1-0 lead. The player of the match went Emma Abdullai.
Match 2: Rain off
Match 3: A Thriller for the Ages
The third match was the most dramatic. Sophia Beausoleil posted 92/7 in (20.0)overs. Obuasi’s chase stumbled at a point 95/3 in (11.0)overs to seal a 7-wicket victory.
Obuasi took a 2- 0 series lead. The player of the match went to Evelyn Nubanie an all rounder player.
Match 4: A Dominant Performance at the KNUST cricket Oval,Obuasi.
Obuasi Cricket Academy batters dominated the third match, posting a score of 176/6 in 20 overs.
Obuasi cricket Academy's Eva Agyeiwaa Kodie played a classy innings, scoring 72 runs off 54 balls. Obuasi won the third match by 52runs.
Match 5: A Thrilling Finale
The final match was thrilling. Hawkman cricket club posted 52/10 in 12.4 overs, Obuasi Academy scored 53/4 in 8 overs. The player of the match went to Emmanuella Abdulai. Obuasi cricket Academy won the final match by 7 wickets, taking the series 4-0.
