District Chief Executive for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, James Wor, alongside traditional leaders, has handed over medical equipment valued between GH₵400,000 and GH₵500,000 to the Issah Polyclinic, along with a GH₵26,000 visibility motorbike to the district police command.

The life-saving health equipment was funded by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), while the motorbike was procured using the Issah Area Council's Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

The medical supplies, which include delivery beds, baby cots, phototherapy machines, radiant warmers, and an autoclave, will furnish a newly completed maternity ward that was previously an abandoned project.

District Chief Executive Mr. Wor noted that the assembly treated the polyclinic's request for the equipment as an emergency to ensure the facility could immediately serve the community.

He emphasized that it is not prudent to focus solely on building new CHPS compounds when major facilities lack basic equipment.

He disclosed that the National Health Insurance Authority even threatened to withdraw its accreditation to some CHPS compounds, which would lead to their closure.

James Wor announced upcoming renovations for the Wogu, Tabiesi, and Sazia CHPS compounds to bridge the health infrastructure gap.

Acting Medical Superintendent Dr. Paschalina Langmagne highlighted that the new equipment will drastically reduce referrals to the regional hospital, particularly for neonatal care and phototherapy, resolving severe space constraints in a maternity block that previously consisted of just two congested rooms.

Adding to this, District Director of Health Service Madam Genevieve Yiripare stated that the intervention is a significant step toward closing the equipment gap required for the polyclinic to gain full accreditation as a District Hospital.

On the security front, the newly donated motorbike was procured following an appeal by the police command to aid mobility, visibility, and directly support revenue collection efforts.

Assembly member for Issa- Sintaayiri Electoral area, Ernest Kangsangabata, explained that police support previously helped the district exceed its revenue target of GH₵60,000, ultimately bringing in over GH₵102,000.

He noted that the new motorbike will resolve severe logistical challenges officers faced, such as having to find alternative transport late at night to chase down revenue-defaulting vehicles.

Nadowli-Kaleo District Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Daniel Sogah, who has oversight responsibility over the Daffiama-Bussie Issa district, expressed gratitude for the logistics.

He promised strict maintenance of the motorbike while appealing to stakeholders for additional bikes to adequately serve the wider district.

Representing the traditional councils, leaders assured the assembly and the community that their doors remain open to support further developmental initiatives across the district.
