Ghanaian rapper and Afrobeat act Debwoy Afriqa has released a new single titled Partey, a track that fuses celebration with motivation, resonating strongly with music lovers across the country.
The song, produced by acclaimed beatmaker Two Bars, has quickly gained attention with its infectious rhythm, uplifting lyrics and party-themed message. Its accompanying visualiser is also gaining traction online, lighting up social media feeds and playlist charts.
According to Debwoy Afriqa, Partey represents a mood and a movement built on positive energy and perseverance. The artiste, known for his poetic delivery and rhythmic flow, blends hip-hop and hiplife influences in the track, while also drawing from other genres such as highlife and afrobeats to enrich his sound.
Though primarily rooted in hip-hop and hiplife genres, Debwoy’s versatility allows him to navigate diverse musical styles. He is passionate about storytelling, expressing emotion and connecting with his audience through dynamic sounds and relatable messages.
Born Emmanuel Yaw Amissah, Debwoy hails from Akwatia in Ghana’s Eastern Region and currently lives in Kpone. He discovered his passion for music at an early age and honed his skills in local studios during his time at Ashaiman Senior High School. He began recording music as early as 2012 but launched his professional career in 2018 after signing with Shydem Entertainment and QMIX Productions.
That same year, he released his debut single Me and You, followed by tracks such as Who Born You, Warm Up, Ohia, and Dangote. Each release has contributed to his steady rise in Ghana’s music space, earning him a growing fan base and media recognition.
Debwoy is currently working on his debut album, a project he and his team at Shydem/Qmix Productions are pursuing with dedication and focus. The rapper describes his creative process as organic and spontaneous, drawing inspiration from studio sessions and collaborations with fellow musicians, or “studio rats” as he affectionately calls them.
