Gospel musician Diana Antwi Hamilton has won the 'Artiste of the Year' award at the 2021 edition of the Adonko Ghana Music Awards-USA.
Her win comes few months after she grabbed the same award at the 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The singer beat Fameye, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Mr Drew and Medikal to win the award.
Diana Hamilton also won two other awards on the night, namely, the Gospel Song of the Year and the Gospel Artiste of the Year.
Adina took home Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year while Stonebwoy won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award. Mr Drew won the New Artiste of the Year award and Highlife Song of the Year award went to Kofi Kinaata with Behind the Scenes.
KiDi swept the AfroBeat/Afro Pop Artiste of the Year award and the AfroBeat/Afro Pop Song of the Year award with his hit song Say Cheese.
The US-based Female Artiste of the Year went to Gospel act Millicent Yankey. She also picked US-based Best Video of the Year. Jay Hover was crowned the US-based Male Artiste of the Year at the event that took place over the weekend.
Gospel artiste Herty Corgie was crowned the US-based Female Vocalist and US-based Gospel Artiste of the Year.
The colourful event saw performances from multiple award-winning musicians, including Samini, Choirmaster of Praye fame, Oboy Murphy, Jay Hover, etc.
Celebrities present included movie producer Kofi Asamoah, Meizongo, actor Bismark the Joke, Koo Fori, Akwasi Aboagye, Counsellor Lutterodt and many others.
The Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) 2021, hosted by MzGee, took place on August 21 at Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the US.
GMA-USA is designed to celebrate and honour Ghanaian entertainers in and outside the country. It is also aimed at extending the reach of the Ghanaian music industry at home and abroad.
The awards ceremony was organised in partnership with Ghana’s Embassy in the USA.
