Ghana’s number one DJ and host of Open House Party on Joy FM, DJ Black has become the first Ghanaian DJ to be verified on social media site Facebook.
Some well-known public figures and pages with large followings are verified by Facebook as having an authentic identity. Verified pages comes with a blue badge next to a verified profile or page's name.
These profiles and pages that are verified include that of celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses. These people and brands are verified for people to be sure that they are who they claim to be.
DJ Black, born Kwadwo Ampofo, who has over 94,000 likes told Myjoyonline.com that his page was verified last week.
The renowned DJ was on Saturday adjudged Africa’s Best DJ at the 2014 Africa Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) which came off at the Eisemann Center in Texas Saturday night.
DJ Black, beat off stiff competition from DJ Jimmy Jatt (Nigeria), DJ Exclusive (Nigeria), DJ Joe Mfalme (Kenya), DJ Cndo (South Africa), DJ Creme de la Creme (Kenya), and DJ Shiru (Uganda) to win the prestigious award.
