A medical practitioner worried over the increasing number of Ghanaians suffering from heart disorders.
The Superintendent at the VRA Hospital in Accra, Doctor Emmanuel Sowah has attributed the situation to late night eating.
“We must begin to train ourselves, our children to begin to accept the fact that eating heavy in the morning and light in the evening is a better way of eating than what we are now doing.
“...You should eat at least three to four hours before you go to bed,” he told Joy News in an interview.
Mr Sowah said for countries whose citizens depend largely on foods from restaurants and fast food joints it is appropriate to suggest that the restaurants close early to force citizens to eat early.
But a section of Ghanaians Joy News spoke to were divided over the doctor’s counsel.
Some say they eat anytime they feel like and what is available to them, no matter how heavy or light it is.
But some restaurant owners in Ghana say closing early is not an option they are considering.
