Well, Kendrick Lamar did accuse Drake of having a gambling addiction on “Meet The Grahams.”
Drake doubled down, betting $565,000 on Tyson Fury ahead of his Undisputed Heavyweight Championship bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk won the fight, a split-decision thriller which included a near stoppage of Fury in Round 9, costing Drake $565K.
Drake has had other high-profile bets he’s lost, including losing $400,000 on Jake Paul’s fight against Tommy Fury, betting Paul — who lost by decision — to win by knockout.
Drake also bet $1 million on Argentina to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and while they did, he lost the bet because the match was decided by penalty kicks.
He also lost 2 million Canadian dollars on Israel Adesanya in his November 2022 shocking knockout loss to Alex Pereira.
There are a slew of others as well, but it hasn’t stopped him from placing lofty sums of money on major sporting events.
Usyk’s win over Fury bumps him to 22-0 for his career.
A former Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion, Usyk becomes just the third boxer in the “four-belt era” to gain Undisputed Championship status in multiple weight classes after Terence Crawford and Naoya Inoue, with whom he shares the consensus top three spots on boxing’s pound-for-pound list.
