The Design & Technology Institute (DTI), Ghana's leading private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), is set to host the 5th Annual National Precision Quality Conference.

The conference, a significant event in Ghana's development calendar, is scheduled to take place on September 18, 2025, at The Adesa Pavilion, Labadi Beach Hotel. This year's conference is themed "Investing in Human Capital as a Powerful Driver of Economic Growth," a topic of paramount importance in Ghana's journey towards sustainable prosperity.

The conference aims to foster a critical national dialogue on aligning education, skills training, and workforce readiness with Ghana's economic growth goals. It will bring together policymakers, academia, the private and informal sectors, public institutions, and research bodies to co-create a framework for actionable policy recommendations and practical steps.

A cornerstone of the conference will be the presentation of a baseline study on human capital in Ghana, commissioned by DTI and NDPC. Findings from this evidence-based research will inform the development of national policy and strategy for human capital development.

Ms. Constance Swaniker, Founder and President of DTI, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, "Ghana stands at a crossroads in its development, and we must prioritise human capital as the cornerstone of our economic transformation. This conference is a vital platform for stakeholders to move beyond dialogue to co-create a tangible framework that aligns skills development with our national growth agenda. Our goal is to build a skilled, innovative, and prosperous Ghana."

Key activities and discussions during the conference will include:

• Keynote addresses by Dr. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, and Mr. George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment.
• The Acting Director-General of NDPC, Dr. Audrey Smock Amoah, will speak on Transforming Ghana's Human Capital for the Future of Work.
• Academic perspectives from Dr. Ebo Duncan, Prof. Pupulampu, Prof. William Baah-Boateng, and Prof. Alex Dodoo, who will discuss insights from the baseline research commissioned by DTI and NDPC.
• Policy direction from Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, Chairman of NDPC and Senior Advisor to the President on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), who will outline the next steps for Ghana's Human Capital Development Framework.
• Voices from industry and the informal sector, including Cynthia Naa Komley Adjetey, National President of the Canoe Council of Women and member of the Ghana Council of State, representing women in the fishing business.
• Human Capital Development in the informal sector, presented by Ebenezer Owu-Ewie, Lead Consultant, LETFED Ghana.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in critical conversations on youth empowerment, inclusion, and strategies for creating sustainable jobs.
