Award-winning playwright, Efo Kodjo Mawugbe whose death occurred Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital will be laid to rest Friday.
The renowned playwright who was also the director of the National Theatre was being treated for prostate cancer and paralysis but he did not survive it.
He will be laid to rest at the Osu Cemetery in Accra after a funeral ceremony at the forecourt of the State House which is expected to attract several dignitaries from all spheres of life.
Loved ones of Efo Kodjo, who was born on April 21, 1954 in Kumasi, kept wake at the National Theatre Thursday night.
Efo was renowned for his writing prowess in drama. He was winner of the BBC's International Radio Playwriting Competition 2009 with his play, The Prison Graduates. His play was selected out of 12,000 entries across the world.
