Poultry farmers have set up at the premises of the Multimedia Group Limited at Kokomlemle in Accra to sell eggs at lower prices to consumers.
The MGL partnership with the Greater Accra Poultry Farmers Association is a festive initiative aimed at offering affordable eggs while helping local farmers tackle a persistent surplus.
The event is taking place at the Joy FM Car Park from today, Friday, December 19, to Saturday, December 20.
Prices range from GHC40 for smaller eggs to GHC45–50 for larger ones, ensuring festive feasts without breaking the bank.
The initiative directly links poultry farmers to consumers, providing relief to producers struggling with excess supply, falling prices, and rising production costs, while ensuring households have access to affordable, high-quality protein ahead of Christmas.

Afua Browne, a buyer at the market, described the initiative as a “timely intervention supporting both farmers and families,” while poultry farmer Isaac Manful said it would ease pressure on producers and improve sales.

Organisers say the X’mas Egg Market underscores ongoing efforts to support local poultry production and encourages Ghanaians to buy locally this Christmas.
