The New Force presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has urged the people of Dambai and the entire Oti Region to change their voting pattern and embrace a new dawn of leadership.
The young presidential candidate, who has been very vocal about his industrialization agenda for the entire country, questioned the essence of creating the new Oti Region with Dambai as its capital without the needed development.

Addressing a large crowd at the Dambai Market, where the majority of the people trade in yam, Nana Kwame Bediako urged them to hand over the country's leadership to a young leader like him to bring about the real development Ghana is yearning for.

“Look at this huge river close to this market. Shouldn’t this place be like abroad? We’ve had governments that haven’t been honest with us and so things haven’t gone the way they should.
“My message this morning is that, since Oti was separated from Volta has there been any benefit? So you see that unity is important. Any government that thinks about your progress should be your focus, not the one that divides you and fails to offer any better solution after that. After all this, they still paste their posters around asking for your vote. After voting for 8 years what do you see? Are your children working? Are you financially stable?” he asked the crowd who responded in the negative.

He also questioned why the Oti River, which is a tributary of the Volta Lake is only serving the inhabitants of the area with just a single ferry when a lot more ferries can be introduced. He introduced his vision of industrialization promising to ensure the construction of factories to process farm produce like yams and others to boost the local economy.
He vowed to unlock the new region’s full potential when given the mandate at the polls on December 7th, 2024, accusing the incumbent government of merely sowing division by creating a new region without any accompanying development.
“Ghanaians, it is time to boldly change our minds and voting patterns. Dambai people, Oti people, it is time to allow a young person to pave the way for you. Look at the River here, I am bringing industrialization and I am going to build factories.

“On my way here, I saw only one ferry on the River. We can have 10 ferries. This market shouldn’t only be selling yams and plantains, we need factories around so that it will open up the market for ships to transport goods from here to other countries.
