The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated the newly constituted Board of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, tasking members to deliver social impact through education, health, and economic empowerment in oil-producing communities and beyond.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Jinapor said the Foundation remained a vital vehicle in ensuring that Ghana’s petroleum resources benefit its citizens directly, in line with the vision of President John Dramani Mahama.
“The GNPC Foundation continues to play a vital role in ensuring that petroleum resources directly benefit our people,” he stated.

He congratulated the Board members and urged them to uphold the values of accountability, inclusivity, and excellence.
“I charge you to uphold transparency, inclusivity, and excellence in delivering on your mandate,” he added, emphasising the government’s commitment to community-centred development.
The new Board is chaired by Professor Albert Kwaku Akpalu, with Madam Helga J. M. Boadi serving as CEO of the Foundation.

Other members include Kwame Ntow Amoah, Naa Ayorkor Gyaama Coto-Brown, Professor Patience Aseweh Abor, Yaw Boateng Gyan, and Alhassan Umar.
Mr Jinapor wished them success in “deepening the impact of the GNPC Foundation in transforming lives and communities across Ghana.”
