Finance Minister Seth Terkpe has assured that the country's finances are in good state.
This is despite recent reports that government is having some challenges in meeting the financial needs of some state agencies ,departments and service providers.
Addressing the media on the state of the economy, at a presidential retreat at Peduase lodge, Mr. Terpker admitted that the economy is going through some challenges.
“Revenues are performing well, we do have expenditure challenges” the minister revealed.
He said government would be “re-aligning elements in the budget” to address some of these challenges.
He also sought to give some clarify on recent taxes tabled before parliament.
The Finance minister said, the taxes are not new, it has been in existence since 2008 and that government was only spelling out the tax as an excise
