The North Industrial Area manufacturing facility of AnchorGold Paint, manufacturers of industrial paints, has gone up in flames.
Myjoyonline.com's Ernest Dela Aglanu reported he could see thick clouds of smoke billowing from the company's building, which shares a wall with the Ghana Carton Box Manufacturing Company.
He said six fire tenders are battling the inferno without noticeable success.
A young man who attempted to loot the burning building was nearly lynched by an angry mob.
A 23-year-old employee of the company named only as Mary collapsed after the fire outbreak and was rushed to the Lakeside Clinic. She has since regained consciousness.
Some staff of the company told Aglanu that the fire followed a loud explosion at Hexagon, a section of the company which produces Deluxe paint and AnchorGold Paint.
More soon.
