The fire, which started around 0200 hours on Monday destroyed shops containing car spare parts, lumbers, polymers and other valuables.
The Western Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Mr Obeng Dankwa Dwamena, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Takoradi.
It took nearly five hours for personnel of GNFS to put out the inferno.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
