The former Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, CHRAJ, Justice Emile Short has advised the police to be swift in arresting and persecuting persons who incite violence before and during the upcoming elections.
Justice Short who was speaking on the role of various groups in the elections, stated that the police have often not exercised the moral courage to prosecute perpetuators of election violence.
He was speaking at an Institute of Economic Affairs workshop with election stakeholders on the theme Towards Free, Fair and Violence free elections in Ghana.
He warned that if the police allow such acts to continue without any regulation the nation will be thrown into chaos.
