Former Hearts of Oak and South Africa club side Black Leopards, coach Kostadin Papic has defended his strikers, claiming they are not lacking composure in front of goal.
Leopards dominated their PSL promotion/relegation playoff against Polokwane City on Wednesday night, but went down 1-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
It was Leopards' first loss in the playoffs.
Speaking exclusively to Sport24 in a post-match interview, “Bill Clinton” denied that his target men lacked a golden finishing touch.
“We don’t have a goal scoring problem,” said Papic.
“Results just didn’t go our way.
“We tried our best but we didn’t succeed.
“It happens in football that you can dominate the game and end up with nothing to show at the end of the day.
“We are working hard but it happens to everyone."
A loss for Lidoda Duvha meant they have surrendered their top playoff position to Boebie Solomons's Polokwane City after two games played.
The two sides are separated by a single point.
Rise and Shine will be looking to keep their momentum going when they host Cape Town side, Milano United, at the same venue on Sunday afternoon.
