A former students’ leader, Wonder Victor Kutor has been elected as Deputy Secretary of the Anlo Constituency of governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region.
Mr Kutor was acclaimed by the electorate on August 31, 2014 following the withdrawal of his main contender ahead of the elections.
Wonder was once in charge of Intelligence and Students’ Affairs of the Students’ Representative Council at the University of Ghana.
The enthusiastic and vibrant politician described by party faithful in the constituency as “grassroot man” is expected to bring his experience in student politics and mobilization to bear to shore up the party’s fortunes ahead of the 2016 general elections.
In an interview with some media personnel after his acclamation Wonder said: “Unity and togetherness within the Anlo Constituency is my main target.
“Also I will, together with other executives work to ensure effective branch coordination and activities all in the benefit of the NDC and multi-party democracy in Ghana”.
He further called on the rank and file of the NDC to put aside their differences and support whoever emerges winner in the upcoming national delegates’ congress to ensure a united front ahead of 2016 general elections.
