Public Relations Director of the Ghana Education Service, Paul Krampah, has reiterated that not all Ghanaian school children will receive the free school uniforms announced by government.
He said rather the uniforms would go to some estimated 1.6 million children in deprived districts in the country.
“It’s not every child in every school in the country that is going to receive school uniform; it’s actually meant for children whose parents cannot afford the purchase of school uniform,” he said.
His comment follows the launching of the free uniforms in the Central Region on Wednesday.
The uniforms will be distributed through a selected 77 districts across the country.
The launching however follows what became an intense back and forth over the entity to execute the project.
This is the first phase of the programme, which is in fulfillment of the ruling party’s campaign pledge last year.
