The Managing Director of GCB Bank, Kofi Adomakoh, has asked for support from the Ga Mantse in ensuring peace in the Ga communities.

According to Mr Adomakoh, a significant portion of the bank’s business is in the Greater Accra Region, thus, it needs peace for his outfit to make greater investments in the capital and become more profitable.

The Managing Director made this request when the Bank paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at the Ga Mantse Palace on Friday.

“Your Royal Highness, as you are very much aware, for the Bank to thrive, we need a very peaceful and enabling environment, which is one of the reasons we are here today. To ask for support, for peace in our communities, so that we can make greater investments. Particularly in your area of jurisdiction.

“A significant portion of the business we do is in Greater Accra and our profits mostly are generated from here, and we are asking that we work closely with you to create an enabling environment, a peaceful one so that we can make more investments in the Ga communities,” he noted.

He further continued “So we are here to pledge our support for you, and to ask you to continue to enable us to do profitable business in the Greater Accra Region. We do believe that we have your support and we thank you very much for that.”

On his part, His Royal Majesty, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, acknowledged that sustaining peace in the Ga State was imperative for the continuous operation and growth of the Bank.

“The Bank needs to know that if there is peace in the region, then they will be able to continue working and flourish,” he noted.

Commenting on the bank’s position to make greater investments in the Greater Accra region, the King revealed that the region is faced with a myriad of challenges one being low education among the children in the Ga communities.

“The Bank’s visit to me and my chiefs here today should not be a one-off thing, but they should visit from time to time so we can discuss the various problems and challenges facing the region, particularly the Ga communities, and how they can help us solve them, particularly in the area of educating the Ga children so they can have a bright future,” he noted.

He also revealed that a Business Desk has been set up at the Palace to engage corporate Ghana on how to support and help solve the varied problems facing the region.

GCB Bank has already shown interest in engaging with the Business Desk at the Office of the Ga Mantse to further support the King in his bid to deal with the many challenges facing the Greater Accra Region.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, touching on the Bank’s recent celebration of its 70th Anniversary, lauded GCB for its longevity and dominance in Ghana’s financial sector.
