The Ghana Development Awards 2026, organised by the Business Executive Group, is set to recognize and celebrate the transformational efforts of individuals and businesses in promoting national development and restoring the local and African economies.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.
The award is being held under the theme, “Celebrating Excellence in Nation-Building and Economic Recovery”.
The event will honour individuals and institutions from academia, government, the private sector, civil society, media and other fields who are actively inspiring national progress and contributing to Ghana’s socio-economic development.
It will feature an exciting program including red carpet interviews, media interactions, a development conference, exhibitions, high-level networking, a gala dinner, and exclusive photo sessions.
The ceremony will assemble some high-profile dignitaries and special guests including policymakers, business leaders, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders.
The dignitaries expected at the event inlcude Ms. Beata Matusiková – Head of Trade and Economic Section, Embassy of Czech Republic in Ghana; Dr. Allen Anie – Head of the Innovative Finance and Inclusive Growth Cluster, United Nations Development Program; Dr. Alhaji Ahmed Zaruk – Founder and Principal, Advance Global University College; Dr. Leslie Casely-Hayford – Executive Director, Associates for Change.
Others include Reverend Father Andrew Campbell – Executive Director and Founder, Lepers Aid Committee; Mr. Austin Gamey – Chief Executive Officer, Gamey & Gamey Group.
According to Baroness Paulette Kporo, CEO of the Business Executive Group, the organization is advancing plans to not only recognize and celebrate the efforts of individuals but also foster Africa’s economic development.
“Beyond the Ghana Development Awards, we want to foster intra-Africa trade, Africa-UK, Africa-Europe partnerships that will enhance development not only for Ghana but for Africa, and more importantly, also enhance bilateral
relationships and global trade and cooperation,” she said.
Additionally, Ernest Lartey, Team Lead for the Ghana Development Awards and Manager of the National Awards at the Business Executive Group, stated: “The award is not only an honor but also a catalyst to
inspire institutions and individuals who have Ghana at heart, encouraging them to work even harder to build a prosperous nation where citizens, now and in the future, can live happier, decent, and fulfilled lives.”
