A senior lecturer at the Political Science department of the University of Ghana, Mr Kwesi Jonah, says despite the high marks Ghana has scored in the latest Index of African Governance report, there is still a lot to work to do. The 2009 index was released by the Kennedy School of Governance at the Harvard University together with the world peace foundation. It focuses on countries’ performances in five areas namely: safety, security, rule of law, transparency and corruption. Ghana went up two places from 8th to 6th in the index which tracks the quality of governance in 53 African countries on five indicators.
