The Ayensu Cassava Farmers Association (ACFA) has praised the Government of Ghana for signing an agreement for the exportation of cassava chips from the country to China.
Under the agreement, more than one million metric tons of cassava chips would be exported to china in the next five years.
Mr George Dodd, chairman of the Association, made the commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Agona Kwanyako in the Central Region.
He said the initiative would motivate Ghanaian cassava growers to increase their produce for export.
According to Mr Dodd, the ACFA would encourage its members to liaise with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to expand their farms and increase production.
He said the Association would buy cassava chips from all the ten regions in the country at affordable prices for export.
Mr Dodd appealed to cassava growers to contact the office of the Association at Agona Kwanyako for further information.
