Ghana will host the first ever African Beach Polo World Cup in September.
The tournament will feature six teams across the globe with the La Beach as the venue.
At the launch of the event, Tito Gaudenzi, President and Founder of Lifestyle Companies, organizers said it will be the first time the championship is being staged in Africa after notable cities such as Miami, Dubai, St. Moritz, Berlin, Kitzbuhel and Cap Cana.
“We could not have picked a better place such as Ghana. We have found the perfect location at the La Beach to build the necessary event platform which will be open to the public,” he remarked on the choice of venue.
He said his outfit remains committed to bringing down international top teams and players to compete in the event, the first of its kind on the continent.
Gaudenzi mentioned teams penciled for participation as hosts Ghana, Nigeria, Germany, United States of America, Brazil and Mexico.
“We can now safely say that we have all components in place to hold this event. We are greatly looking forward to creating opportunities for this country. We are dedicated to making this an annual event not only to Ghana, but to the world.”
Mamaga Ngoyinyonufiaga Akosua I, Paramount Queen of the Sasadu Traditional Area and local partner of the organizers, said hosting the event will bring new investment opportunities into the country and enhance its image as well.
Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Minister of Youth and Sports pledged his outfit’s support towards the success of the event.
