FC Koln defender, Kingsley Schindler, has been called up by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton to replace Tariq Lamptey.
The Brighton and Hove right-back was hoping to recover from his injury before Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
However, Tariq has not recovered in time for the clash forcing the technical team of the national team to name a replacement.
Schindler has been named as Tariq’s replacement with the Bundesliga-based player already joining the Black Stars camp in Accra.
The 29-year-old has featured 20 times in the German top flight this season, averaging 35 minutes per game.
The Black Stars are set to fly to Kumasi later today to continue their preparations with 17 players already available at Hughton’s disposal.
