Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Joseph Yamin believes Ghana will put up a more spirited performance at next year's FIFA world cup tournament despite drawing a tough World Cup group.
Ghana is drawn in Group G for next year’s World Cup in Brazil alongside three time winners Germany, Portugal and USA, and will be coming up against some of the best players in the world when the tournament commences next summer
But Yamin says Ghana will shock the World by being the first African team to reach the semi finals.
"Ghana will be part of the last four," Yamin told Asempa FM Sports.
"Ghana will continue to set the pace in Africa. Ghana was the first African country to win World U.17 Cup, World U.20 Cup, and the first to win an Olympics medal in football."
"So Ghana will be the first African country to reach the last four at the World Cup."
Ghana will kick off its World Cup campaign for the third successive time against USA on June 16 in Natal.
The Black Stars will then take on Germany on June 20 in Fortaleza before facing Portugal in the final group game four days later in Brasilia.
