The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has commended the Minister for Roads and Highways and the Department of Urban Roads for responding swiftly to concerns over deteriorating roads in the constituency.
In a social media post on Friday, January 31, Dr Boako disclosed that he had engaged Mr Nyame Mensah and a team from Accra tasked with patching potholes across key roads in Tano North.
He said the intervention follows persistent appeals to improve road safety and ease movement within the area.
According to him, repair works are expected to begin on the Yamfo–Tanoso stretch before extending to Duayaw Nkwanta, where roads such as the Techimatia Road, the Centre Road and the Market Road will also be attended to.
He described the development as a significant relief to residents and commuters who use the routes daily.
Dr Boako urged motorists and pedestrians to cooperate fully with the road contractors during the period of the works, stressing the importance of observing all public safety measures.
“I respectfully entreat all commuters and road users to cooperate and observe public safety measures to help avert any unfortunate incidents during the period of work,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation to the Roads Minister and the Department of Urban Roads for what he described as a positive response to his call, adding that the repairs would go a long way to improving safety and transport efficiency in the constituency.
