Ex Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful has joined the campaign for local coaches to take charge of the Black Stars.
Arhinful insists the Ghana Football Association must end the era of expatriate coaches taking advantage of Ghana national team job and support local coaches to achieve success.
The FA is yet to state whether it will head-hunt or invite applications from interested persons but several coaches have been linked with the vacant job including Former Tunisia coach Humberto Cuelho and Ghana-born former France captain Marcel Dasilley.
Augustine Arhinful expects the Black Stars players to respect any local coach who would be appointed.
“I will go for a local coach, not a foreign coach for now because the treatment that is being meted out to us is not fair.”
He made reference to Dujkovic who left after the 2006 World Cup and Milovan Rajevac.
He said coaches David Duncan, Herbert Addo, CK Akunnor can do a better job if given the same support, adding the perception of disrespect to the local coaches by the players is a creation of the Ghanaian media and not the reality.
