The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) headline sponsor of the senior national football team, the Black Stars, has commended the team for their 2-1 victory over the Chipolopolo of Zambia, to emerge tops in their Group D qualifiers on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“We recognize that qualifying for the 2014 World Cup is not an easy task, and therefore appreciate the professionalism, teamwork, dedication and resilience that you have demonstrated so far,” Nana Boakye Asafu- Adjaye, CEO of GNPC stated.
Continuing he said: “We at GNPC appreciate your efforts in chalking this important and critical victory and believe that you will continue to be a dependable partner as we both aspire to succeed at the global level.”
To the players, the technical team, management, the many supporters unions and teeming Ghanaians who supported from far and near.
“We congratulate and salute you and hope that united as one, this partnership will continue as the Black Stars enter the final playoff towards the Brazil 2014 World Cup, which beckons.”
Finally, he assured the team of GNPC’s continued support to lift the Stars to the skies where they belong.
Ghana is among the ten countries to have sealed their places in Africa’s final qualifying round for the 2014 World Cup.
