Ghana’s Golden Rackets will take part in the African Tennis Championship in November but there are concerns as to how prepared our top seeds are for the big challenge.
The Rackets, made of US-based Henry Adjei-Darko, Salifu Mohammed, Emmanuel Mensah and home-based, Owusu Menford, failed to advance to Zone Two of the last edition of the Davis Cup tournament played in Morocco.
Their relatively low form has been due to their inability to play in recognized tournaments. National number two seed Salifu Mohammed who is based in New York tells Joy Sports, that he and his colleagues have lately found it difficult support to play in internationally recognized tournaments to improve their rankings due to poor finances.
Meanwhile the Golden Rackets are expected to make another attempts at qualification for Euro-Africa Zone Two of the Davis Cup in the next edition in April 2011.
