The Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has assured the public that the government has secured adequate fuel supplies to prevent disruptions in power generation, despite recent complaints of intermittent power outages in parts of the country.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, February 20, Mr Kwakye Ofosu addressed the sporadic power cuts, clarifying that the government has taken proactive measures to maintain a stable energy supply.

While acknowledging the recent outages, he emphasised that the Energy Minister, John Jinapor is fully aware of the situation and will engage the public in the coming days to provide updates and address concerns.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts to avoid past challenges that previously threatened the nation’s energy stability.

“At the onset of this administration, we faced serious threats due to the closure of the West African Gas Pipeline and the prior government's failure to provide adequate fuel for thermal power generation. We have since averted such crises by ensuring consistent fuel supplies,” Mr Kwakye Ofosu noted.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and emphasised the importance of continuous communication with the public regarding fuel availability and energy supply.

"It's important that from time to time, the Energy Ministry engages the public to address any concerns they may have," he added.
