The Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate will, from Monday, August 16, 2021, begin the next phase of vaccination in the region.
The exercise is expected to end on August 20, 2021.
According to Regional Director of Health Dr Charity Sarpong, the Service will be using the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine for this phase of vaccination.
The Directorate expects to vaccinate 100,000 people at the end of the exercise.
However, this exercise is limited to seven districts in the region that have been described as hotspots.
These districts are the Accra Metropolitan, Ablekuma Central, Okaikoi North and Ga South.
The rest are Kpone Katamanso, Tema Metropolitan and Adentan Municipality.
Persons who have already taken AstraZeneca and Sputnik vaccines cannot receive the jabs under this phase.
According to the Regional Health Director, Dr Charity Sarpong, persons living with comorbidities and 60 years and above will be prioritised.
