University of Ghana sprinter Benjamin Azamati has won gold in the men's 100m at the ongoing Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games on Wednesday.
Azamati won with a time of 10.60 seconds, equaling the time set in the last edition which also won him gold medal.
Ahead of the games, Azamati was confident of setting a new record this year following a successful 2019.
He was part of Ghana's 4X100m men's team that won gold at the African Games in Morocco and participated at the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Edwin Gadayi of University of Cape Coast (10.64 seconds) and University of Education, Winneba's Fuseini Ibrahim (10.67 seconds) won silver and bronze respectively.
In the women's 100m race, Kate Agyemang of University of Development Studies run a time of 11.86 seconds to take gold.

University of Cape Coast duo Latifah Ibrahim and Janet Mensah finished second and third respectively.
William Amponsah of the University of Cape Coast won gold in the men’s 5000m after setting a new GUSA record.

He won with a time of 14.16mins, breaking the previous record which stood at 14.56mins.
There was also high jump as Rose Yeboah of the University of Cape Coast won gold in the women's division after a setting a new GUSA record with a clearance of 1.85m.
1.85m is an improvement to 1.84m clearance which won her bronze at last year's African Games in Morocco.
