Parliament has approved the second batch of ministers nominated by President John Mahama, following their successful vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The Appointments Committee unanimously recommended the confirmation of Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South; Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP for Adaklu; and Eric Opoku, MP for Asunafo South, for ministerial positions.
On Tuesday, January 21, the nominations were debated in Parliament under the leadership of the Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, who presided over the session.
After extensive deliberations, both the Majority and Minority caucuses acknowledged the competence and proven track records of the three nominees, affirming their ability to lead their respective ministries effectively.

The Second Deputy Speaker subsequently confirmed the appointments.
Haruna Iddrisu was approved as the Minister of Education, Kwame Governs Agbodza as the Minister for Roads and Highways, and Eric Opoku as the Minister for Food and Agriculture.
This second batch of ministerial approvals complements the first group of ministers previously approved by Parliament.
The approval marks another significant milestone in President Mahama’s efforts to build a capable and effective government team to address pressing national challenges.
