The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, has announced that the NHIA will provide lifetime health insurance coverage to the widows and children of the eight fallen heroes.
He explained that the initiative would ensure that the beneficiaries would not have to worry about renewing their insurance coverage annually, thereby providing them with significant financial relief over time.
The move, Dr. Bampoe said, demonstrates the NHIA's commitment to not only honouring the sacrifices of the fallen heroes but also to care for their loved ones.

He said, "NHIA aims to offer the families a measure of comfort and support as they navigate their loss. The lifetime coverage will enable the families to access quality healthcare without financial strain, allowing them to focus on rebuilding their lives."
The Chief Executive also highlighted the Authority's efforts to expand healthcare coverage in the country, including the upcoming rollout of free primary healthcare and the Ghana Medical Care Trust (Mahama Cares), which will cover non-communicable diseases.
Dr. Bampoe assured that the families of the fallen heroes would benefit from these initiatives, ensuring they receive comprehensive healthcare coverage when needed.
