Nigerian chef and social media sensation Hilda Baci has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest-ever serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
The dish weighed in at 8,780 kilograms, or 19,356 pounds 9 ounces, after being prepared by Hilda alongside Gino on Victoria Island in Lagos.

Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement after officials verified the final weight on site.
Organisers say the massive serving was cooked and presented under official supervision so the total could be accurately measured and certified.
The scale of the effort was striking.
Thousands of kilograms of rice, tomatoes, oils and spices were processed, cooked and combined in a giant pot and industrial gear before the finished jollof was transferred to weighing stations for certification.
The event drew crowds and a flurry of social media reaction as footage and photos circulated online.

Supporters framed the record as a cultural moment for Nigeria in the ongoing, good-natured rivalry over West African jollof rice.
Some commentators hailed the result as a symbolic win for Nigerian cuisine, while others celebrated the logistical feat of producing and verifying nearly nine tonnes of a single dish.
Hilda Baci first rose to fame when she sparked a record-breaking trend across Africa after claiming the longest cooking marathon in 2023.
This latest success cements her public profile and adds a new chapter to the modern story of jollof rice as a continental touchstone.
Guinness World Records’ official confirmation places the event in the global record books and gives Hilda and her team a headline-grabbing entry to a long list of food-related records.
For now, the image of a vast bed of steaming jollof on Victoria Island is the defining picture of a record breaker that captured attention across Nigeria and beyond.
