Award-winning Ghanaian fashion designer, Prince Boamah, popularly known as Kula Perry, has revealed some of the negative experiences he encounters while working with mainstream artists.
In an interview on Joy Learning TV’s Career Trail, the creative shared how he styled popular artists who failed to acknowledge his contributions to their style.
He pointed out instances where he accompanied artists to TV programmes, yet they failed to acknowledge the efforts he put into styling them.
“I used to style mainstream artistes who go on TV and when they are asked, what you are wearing today, they will just say I am much more inclined about styling. Look I am just a stylist behind there, and they can’t just say Kula Perry is the best stylist, who put me on and made sure my outfit was amazing. They won’t say that”, he told host Irene Adubea Aning.

In addition to the challenges he faces as an entrepreneur, the ace fashion stylist who also sells garments and other accessories with the tag ‘fear no man’ also disclosed the challenges he faces in convincing Ghanaians to purchase his products.
According to Kula Perry, Ghanaians like "free things."
Rather than purchasing his products, they would prefer to receive them without having to pay.

"Africans don’t support. This tumbler I am holding, do you know how many I need to give out for them to accept? I have to break even. So if I produce 500 tumblers, I have to give out 250 for free. All the time people need free things," he stated.
Kula Perry lamented that despite providing his services for free, these individuals do not promote his products to encourage others to purchase them.
“I don’t care about giving free things but it’s about the exchange. If I give you free something, do something about it. Let five or three people buy from me. At the end of the day, I can break even with just you putting it out. They will not do it,” he added.
However, the fashion designer stated that these challenges would not discourage him from continuing in business, as there are people out there who genuinely appreciate his work.
